Alumni Network Launched

The school has signed up with Future First Networks, an organisation that will help us build a network of former pupils to act as role models for our current students and provide a source of inspiration, information and opportunities of which they might not be aware.

Handsworth Old Girl gains Olympic Place

Former Handsworth pupil, Yvette Baker, has been selected to compete at the London 2012 Olympics. More details in this article at the Telegraph Website. Yvette is in the front right of image one and far left of image two that accompany the article. There's a profile of Yvette in the PE Matters section of the April 2012 School Newsletter (Download here) and we are hoping to welcome her as our guest of honour at the Sports Award Evening on the 2nd July.

Careers website re-launched

Please take a look at the new Careers section of the website. Here you will find lots of information about a wide range of careers. There are Career Tools that your daughter can use to match her skills and interests to careers in which she might excel, information about university applications and studying abroad.

Many of the girls ask, “But what can I do with an English / Geography / History / Theology / Physics degree?” We hope the links provided in the website will help them identify careers in which they could use such degrees, and achieve success and fulfilment.

We also plan to keep you up to date with the latest trends in the job market by publishing relevant newspaper articles. We hope you will encourage your daughter to use the site to explore a wide range of careers before committing herself to one.

Year 10 Review 3 - Parental Access to Results via Eportal

Due to the school changing our management information system from CMIS to SIMS, parents will be unable to access Y10 Review3 electronically on 31st March. Therefore, we will be sending home a paper copy of your daughter's results when we return from the Easter holiday.

Sport Relief Mile

The year 11 sport leaders level 2 are organising the sport relief mile which will take place on Friday 23rd March at lunchtime. Pupils are required to come into school in P.E kit and are encouraged to raise as much money as possible for the cause.

Last Dance
